Lunch: tuna sandwich on whole wheat/whole grain bread, piece of watermelon, couple pieces of cantaloupe, wheat bagel chips

Snack: yogurt, chips and salsa, trail mix

Late Dinner: Chicken from a Healthy Choice frozen dinner — the sides in this meal are nasty tasting so I didn’t eat that. Also, wheat bagel chips, pretzels and peanuts/raisin trailmix.

Food & Workout Log:
Breakfast: Banana

Lunch: turkey sandwich 100 percent whole wheat, whole grain, macaroni salad, 1 deviled egg, pretzels.

Snack: peanuts (cashews), Pretzles, Banana, deviled egg

Dinner: Salad with lite ranch dressing, carrots, calla flower & broccoli. Also, a couple slices of cantaloupe, almonds, and a cliff bar.

Workout: 11 mile run

After workout meal: piece of chicken breast, with small potato wedges & broccol (healthy choice frozen dinners)

Breakfast - Banana, high fiber ceral (Fiber One), three eggs, orange juice

Snack: pretzels (few handfuls)

Lunch - Turkey sandwich (two slices) on 100% whole wheat, whole grain bread, chips and salsa, and macaroni salad.

Workout - Run to gym (1 mile) bicep-tricep workout and Run back home (1 mile)

Dinner: Chicken Salad, wheat bread

Snack: trail mix (nuts and raisins)

Food & Workout Log:

Morning - Smoothie (Naked brand, mango) — I had to run out the door to go cheer on some friends running in the Chicago Marathon.

Ran 3 miles (last three miles of the marathon with a friend that was needing a running buddy).

Lunch - Chicken Primavera Pasta from TGI Fridays.

Dinner - Two chicken quesadillas which didn’t taste good since it was bar food so I went to subway and ate a footlong tuna with black olives and apples for a side.

Morning - banana, bowl of high fiber cereal

Lunch - Turkey sandwich (two slices) on 100% whole wheat, whole grain bread, chips and salsa, and two deviled eggs

Workout - ran to the gym (1 mile) and did a light chest workout due to lack of energy. Ran back home (1 mile) and could feel the deviled eggs trying to work their way back up! Yea, not a good idea to eat those before you work out :)

This is the first of what hope to be many goal-oriented posts. The idea is that every day I post my progress on a specific goal that I’m trying to achieve. Why? well - It’s more interesting this way and I’d like to create a bit of excitement around certain goals that have the ability to change my life and the way I live if they are achieved and can be maintained. If a goal is something more life-long or runs bit more deep than simply achieving some physical feat such as running a marathon then I will try my best to update the progress as the months & years go on. If necessary, I will revisit goals to re-achieve with a better approach!

Oberweis Milk Truck!

A couple nights ago around 2 a.m. a few of my friends and I were walking home from a night out and my friend, Adam, spotted an Oberweis milk truck. He told me to go ask for free milk claiming that if you walk up to an Oberweis milk truck and ask for milk they will give you a free gallon/half-gallon of milk. So I put his claim to the test and sure enough the delivery driver had a half gallon of Oberweis chocolate milk readily available and handed it over for free! It was awesome!

Video Resurfaces - Society Insight

I was sent a link by a friend to check out this interesting video about how Dick Chaney predicts what’s going to happen if we invade Iraq back in 1994. This is an interesting story to say the least but what intrigues me is how many stories actually exist that make my jaw drop in disbelief but nothing seems to change. Well, this particular Chaney story isn’t going to get your jaw to drop but perhaps my comments (or another reader’s comments) on the larger issues will get you there.

Everyone has their 21st birthday to look forward to but after it’s all over what do you have to look forward to? Some say it’s downhill from there. I say nonsense, 22 should be better than 21 and for me it was! Don’t get me wrong, my 21st birthday was a great time filled with memories I will NOT forget but 22 was an event! An event that will undoubtedly be recreated.
